Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term coach his previous coach.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.

The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at 21 different events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

His retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the last five games to go ahead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to create a third set.

The opponent saved four early break points in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
